In collaboration with the University of Manitoba, we support the Government of Uttar Pradesh in reducing
maternal and child mortality, by improving Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN),
in 29 high priority districts and aspirational districts.
We support the Department of Child Development’s Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and National Health Mission, in building the capacity of Frontline Workers (Anganwadi Workers and ASHAs) to counsel communities with focus on promoting the early initiation of breast-feeding within the first hour of birth, exclusive breast-feeding up to 6 months, importance of diet diversity in children above 6 months, iron + folic acid supplements for pregnant women.
We support the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and State Nutrition Mission in implementating the Poshan Abhiyaan.
We provide technical support for rolling out of the ICDS Common Application Software, facilitating Incremental Learning Approach Training, supporting quality implementation of community-based events and facilitating the development of Convergent Action Plans at the block and district levels.
Reaching over 100,000 villages monthly, the CiVHSND is an essential healthcare platform in UP. This platform empowers communities by providing vital Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition (RMNCH+N) services, with a focus on integrated, beneficiary-centric care. The Brief describes the methodology that was evolved by UP TSU along with GoUP to measure the availability, coverage, and quality of service delivery.
