India Health Action Trust (IHAT) works towards reducing inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programs to improve population health. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals, IHAT works closely with the Government of India and state governments to achieve public health goals. IHAT’s work focuses on prevention and control of HIV and Tuberculosis, in achieving significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, improved Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems. IHAT has also set up Technical Support Units (TSU) and Innovation Hub to provide techno-managerial assistance and to coordinate with the Governments, Non-Government Agencies, Academic Institutions and Communities.
Under the TSU work in UP, a significant work is to support GoUP on enhancing data use for decision-making. This mainly includes – improving the availability, accessibility, quality and use of data. The core objective of this work is to provide techno-managerial support to the Health Department of GoUP to enhance the use of data for decision-making by strengthening the availability and quality of government data system and increasing the use of data for problem-solving by gap analysis and prioritization at different levels (state, division, district and block).

The primary responsibility of this position will be to build the capacity of divisional and district level government staff in data curation, analysis and decision-making to analyse the data and identify programmatic gaps to help suitable evidence-based decision making. The person will also be responsible for strengthening of government data system in terms of data quality, data analysis, monitoring of TSU/GoUP designed survey to ensure availability of quality data for analysis. S/He will also be responsible for laisioning with government officials and other stakeholders for various purposes at division level.
